Everyone loves puppies, and everyone loves receiving gifts. With that in mind, why wouldn’t be obvious that everyone would love to get a puppy as a gift? The answer roughly falls into the concept of “It is a nice place to visit but I wouldn’t want to live there.”
Many dog lovers just don’t have the time or financial resources to take care of a puppy full time. Many people love puppies and dogs but just can’t put up with all the maintenance that they naturally require.
You also have to take a look at this from the puppy’s perspective. Some puppies “take to people” differently than others. It doesn’t mean that the puppy is mean or bad or that the person is mean or bad. They must might have not been made for each other. If the puppy is being given as a gift, this needs to be worked out before they are handed this cute, little bundle with a big bow.
