Although we would always love to take our dog with us wherever we go, sometimes we just can’t do that. We need to find somewhere to leave him when we are away from home on a trip or vacation. We don’t want to leave him in a place where he won’t feel safe and secure.
Well, Robin and I are happy to report that there is good news and bad news. The good news is that you have many options to pick from for your dog when you have to leave on a trip or vacation. The bad news is that you have to pick one of them.
These options range from having your dog in a classic dog boarding facility to having someone move into your home and take care of your dog and your home while you are gone. Each option provides different features that may or may not be good for you and your dog.
It is important that you do your homework before you must pack your bags and pull out of the driveway. Robin and I are quite familiar with all the options and would like to share our observations on the pluses and minuses of each choice. Please take a moment to read our dog training article on “What is the Best Dog Sitting Choice for My Dog” to gain a perspective regarding your options. Next, check each option out way before you have to go on your trip so that you are comfortable with your choice.
