One of the must universally bothersome things that dogs do is to run to the front door when someone wings the doorbell. After that, they often make a quick dash out the door and into the front yard when we try and open the door to greet our guest. As I stated, this is always annoying and can also be a very large safety hazard.
We are always asked “How do I get my dog back after he runs out the front door?” I have a very simple answer, “Don’t let him run out the front door”. The way to accomplish this is pretty simple and can be easily woven into your normal actions of greeting guests at the front door.
